Stop Snitching

.....For months, the “Stop Snitching” campaign has baffled media outlets across the country. Well, it seems that the confusion continues.  On March 29, USA Today ran a cover story entitled, “Anti Snitch Campaign, Riles Police, Prosecutors.” The article highlights how many of Hip- Hop’s biggest names, like Busta Rhymes and Lil’ Kim, have damaged their images by following a code that says, “To be a credible rapper, you have to know when to shut up.” Of course, the complexities of the “Stop Snitching” campaign go much deeper than that. But perhaps the best explanation for why the code has become so influential in the street comes from professional boxer, Rayco Saunders, who in the article states, “I’ve been wronged by the system.  Do you think I would help the system…? Do cops snitch on other cops?”
