"3 held in plot to kill boxer."

Pittsburgh police have arrested three men in connection with a foiled contract killing that targeted a local professional boxer.

The men, all of whom have criminal records, hatched the plot against 29-year-old Rayco Saunders while rooming at the ARC House, a drug and alcohol treatment facility on the North Side, according to police affidavits.  Saunders was unaware of the plot.
City narcotics detectives unknowingly arrested the suspected triggerman, Jason Korey, on Jan 24 on unrelated drug and firearms chargers.

Jason Korey and Keilan Wells, two of three men arrested Friday for planning what police called a targeted killing of a local boxer, were arraigned late Saturday.

Korey, 21, of Baldwin Borough was being held on $500,000 straight bond in the Allegheny County Jail on charges of criminal attempt of homicide, receiving stolen property, theft, firearms violations and conspiracy.

Walls, 27, of Arlington, was being held on $100,000 straight bong at the county jail on charges of criminal solicitation to commit homicide and conspiracy.

Shawn Davis, 23, of Beltzhoover, the third man charged in the plot to kill 29-year-old Rayco Saunders, was arraigned Friday and is being held at the county jail in lieu of $160,000 straight bond.
